In this year´s Indonesian Arts and Culture Scholarship Program (BSBI 2015) Republic of Croatia is represented by Ms. Marina Pretkovic. Marina (27 years) graduated her Master program in History, Ethnology and Anthropology from the University of Zagreb, and in Croatia, she was an intern at the Ministry of Culture. Before leaving for Indonesia, Marina said that she was very happy to be selected in the program, and enthused to study Indonesian culture, and its language (Bahasa Indonesia).
In Indonesia, she is will receive trainings in arts and performances, and the introduction of Indonesian culture. At the end of the program in She and other participants will perform an art performance In front of an audience.
On March 9 2015, Marina and other BSBI 2015 participants, comprising 70 people from around the world attended the opening ceremony by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mrs. Retno Marsudi at Gedung Pancasila in Jakarta. At the opening ceremony, Foreign Minister Retno said that these young men and women are currently building a "bridge" for mutual understanding, peace, and prosperity for the world. This bridge, according to her, manifested in art and culture. At the end of her speech, Minister Marsudi said "Let's create a bridge. Let's fill this globe we are living in with love and let's spread our beautiful friendship"
