The Indonesia-Myanmar Business Matching 2018 Attracts 40 Myanmar Companies To Do Business With Indonesia

Yangon, September 2018--- More than 50 business people from 40 Myanmar companies attended the Indonesia-Myanmar Business Matching 2018 at Lotte Hotel, Yangon in 17 September 2018. The Business Matching was held by the Indonesian Embassy in cooperation with the Union of Myanmar Federation of Commerce of Industry (UMFCCI). A b-to-b meeting for around 20 Indonesian businessmen from 10 Indonesian companies and their Myanmar counterpart was arranged. Some of the Indonesian companies came directly from Indonesia, while the others already set their business in Myanmar. 

The event was attended by U Aung Soe, Director Gen​eral of Myanmar Trade Promotion Organisation, Ministry of Commerce and Dr. Zaw Min Win, President of the UMFCCI, as well as other officials from Myanmar’s Ministry of Construction and Ministry of Industry.

During His welcoming remarks, the Indonesian Ambassador, H.E. Prof. Dr. Iza Fadri conveyed that there were plenty opportunities for both countries to increase their bilateral trade and the business matching was held to achieve the target. The trade between Indonesia and Myanmar in 2017 was at the value of USD973 million. Ambassador Iza was confident that by the end of 2018, the bilateral trade would reach USD1 billion. 

U Aung Soe and Dr. Zaw Min Win delivered the same message and they encourgaed Indonesian business sectors to invest in Myanmar.

The lines of business of the companies in the Business Matching included construction, infrastructure, packaging and processing, transportation, manufacture, consumer goods, telecommunication, electrical equipment, and pharmaceutical.
