Ambassador Hands Over The Reins


With the conclusion of Ambassador Amris Hassan’s term of office as the Republic of Indonesia’s Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador to New Zealand, Samoa and the Kingdom of Tonga, a handover ceremony was held at the Indonesian Embassy in Wellington on 1 April 2010 in which Ambassador Amris Hassan handed over the tasks of Head of Mission to Mr Hermono who will serve as Charge d’Affaires until the arrival of the new Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador or until Mr Hermono completes his tour of duty at the Indonesian Embassy in Wellington.


Ambassador Amris Hassan returned to Indonesia on Friday 2 April 2010. The entire staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Wellington along with a number of members of the Indonesian community in Wellington and a number of other Ambassadors came to see him off from Wellington Airport. Ambassador Amris Hassan’s actions and achievements while carrying out his tasks in New Zealand are a source of inspiration to the staff of the Indonesian Embassy in Wellington and the Indonesian community in New Zealand.
