Vientiane, 6 April
2018. The Indonesian Embassy open Indonesian Language Course Batch IX 2018 at
Mercure Hotel Vientiane.The opening ceremony was attended by more than 110 people
from course participants, government officials, and Indonesian community in
Vientiane.
In his opening
remarks, Ambassador Designate, H.E. R.P. Pratito Soeharyo, express that
language is one of the important element on the enhancement of bilateral
relations between Indonesia and Lao PDR. The implementation of the Indonesian
Language course will be able to provide knowledge to the Lao’s community on the
richness of Indonesia’s culture and language.
H.E. Pratito Soeharyo expected that the participants of
the course will continue to explore Bahasa Indonesia and continue to be
part of Friends of Indonesia. Thus, the Embassy will be able to engage with the
participants and alumni as a form of communication and good friendship between
the people of both countries, including by inviting them to various Embassy’s
events. In the future it is expected that the participants of the course at the
Indonesian Embassy in Vientiane will continue to grow and increasingly in
demand.
Moreover, Mr. Pratito
Soeharyo also inform the audience about the upcoming Asian Games that will be
held in Jakarta and Palembang from 18th August-2nd
September 2018. In this regards, he invited Lao athletes as well as other Lao
people not only to participate at this prestigious and largest sport event in
Asia, but also witness and experience the beauty of Indonesia.
Indonesian Language Course has been conducted since 2010.
For this year, the course will be held for 8 months (April -October 2018) and
will consist of 2 (two) level, the basic level and advanced level, with 7 class
from Monday until Friday each week. Participants of the course are becoming
more diverse year by year which come from a variety of disciplines and backgrounds
and mostly associated with leading institutions and organizations in Laos.
