On May 7th 2018, the Indonesian Embassy in Vientiane held a Business Meeting at Crowne Plaza Hotel, Vientiane, Laos. This event is co-hosted by Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (IICB).

The Business Meeting and Seminar attended by the Guest of Honor, Madame Phongsamouth Anlavan – The Director General Department of Asia Pacific and Africa, Madame Farah Ratnadewi Indriani - The Deputy Chairman for Investment Climate Development of IICB, Mr. Daovone Phachanthavong, Vice President of Lao National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and various entrepreneurs from Laos and Indonesia.

To start this event, a video narrated by Ambassador of Indonesia to Laos His Excellency Pratito Soeharyo, showing Indonesia as a worthy partner for Laos. Charge D'affair of the Republic of Indonesia Embassy of Vientiane, Mr. A. Firman Arif W. Soepalal reiterates Ambassador Pratito message that Indonesia is a truthful and a good friend for Laos.

The Guest of Honor, The Director General of Asia Pacific and Africa, Her Excellency Madame Phongsamouth Anlavan spoke about Indonesia – Laos bilateral relations from Laos perspective.

Opening the seminar session, the Deputy Chairman for Investment Climate Development of the Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board, Madam Farah Ratnadewi Indriani explains about investment climate in Indonesia through successful reform of it is law on investment. The progress reflected on the increase Indonesia ranks on the ease of doing business in the world from 91 to 72.

Theme of the seminar is on the investment climate and doing business condition in Indonesia and Laos. The panelist are Mr. Indra Wijaya Supriadi - Managing Director of the Eximbank Indonesia, Mr. Chanthone Sitthixay* – CEO of Petro Trade Laos, and Mr. Sengdara Xayaphone from the KPSS Company.

The Seminar immediately followed by one on one business matching that attended by more than 15 Indonesian companies, Lao companies and other invited guests which given opportunity to the businessman to have a direct one on one discussion to explore any mutual beneficial business opportunities.

The Government of Indonesia, through the Embassy, will always work to improve bilateral relations between the two countries including increasing the economic cooperation between Indonesia – Laos and to foster business to business relationship.
