Tunisian FM to lead a delegation to the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference

Foreign Minister Taïeb Baccouche will lead the Tunisian delegation to the 60th anniversary of the Asian-African Conference and the 10th anniversary of the New Asian-African Strategic Partnership (NAASP). The events will be held on 19-24 April 2015 in Jakarta and Bandung.
In a meeting with the Indonesian Ambassador Ronny P Yuliantoro on 20 April 2015 at Carthage International Airport before heading to Jakarta, Foreign Minister Taïeb Baccouche expressed his excitement for the opportunity to visit Indonesia, a friendly country of Tunisia since the era of independence struggle. According to Minister Baccouche, this first visit is to celebrate the 1955 Asian-African Conference in which Tunisia also took part.
In response, Ambassador Yuliantoro expressed his appreciation and gratitude to Tunisian President Béji Caïd Essebsi and the Tunisian Government for accepting the invitation to the events. Ambassador Ronny expressed the wish to see the spirit of Bandung which was proclaimed 60 years ago help to boost the South-South cooperation, especially the economic cooperation between Indonesia and Tunisia. This expectation is in line with the policy of the new governments in both countries which emphasize on strengthening the economic diplomacy.
