Godhong Maple performance in World Routes-Fortune Cooking Festival, at Harbourfront Centre, Toronto


Toronto – On August 21st, 2010, Godhong Maple, a cultural group which always practicing in the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in Toronto, performed a cultural show in World - Routes - Fortune Cooking Food Festival at Redpath Stage, Harbourfront Centre, Toronto, Canada.


Harbourfront Centre is one of the centers of pleasure and tourism in down town Toronto which often visited by communities of Toronto during summer time. Built in 1991 and occupying area of 10 acre, facing Lake Ontario and Ontario Island, Harbourfront is always busy and full by visitors on week end.


Starting performance at 5.30 pm to 6.00 pm, Godhong Maple presented three creations of Indonesian traditional music Gamelan and Angklung with songs of Yamko Rambe Yamko from Papua, Sik Sik from North Sumatera, and Meong-Meong from Bali. Godhong Maple also presented Saman dance which was able to attract around 200 visitors at the side.


Long applause has been given by visitors after the show was done and even some visitors asking for photograph and chatting with the members of the group.
