The Gajah Mada University in Yogyakarta, Indonesia will hold “The 3rd DREaM International Students Summer Program 2011 (DREaM 2011)" on June 26 – July 6, 2011. The event will be organized by its Office of International Affairs and expected to be participated by around 100 students from different countries all over the world.
DREaM 2011 will highlight “Social Entrepreneurship” as its theme for the entire programs. This theme is in accordance with the University’s mission in contributing to the development of society. As social entrepreneur will able to identify social issues and find solutions by applying entrepeneural approach, social enterprises which performs as an agent of change will improve system, discover and spread new strategies, and enhance solutions based on the involvement of local change-makers. The DREaM 2011’s programs will consist of community service, internship, lecturing and other social activities.
Gajah Mada University (UGM) is the oldest and the largest state university in Indonesia. Founded on December 19, 1949, currently it has 18 faculties, 69 undergraduate programs, 24 diploma programs and a Graduate School. The university is located in the Special Region of Yogyakarta, one of the smallest provinces in the country, which has been widely known as the center of Javanese culture as well as the center of learning. The Special Region of Yogyakarta has 3,200,000 populations, 511,000 of whom reside in the city, focuses its development on three inseparable pillars namely education, culture, and tourism.
