  • Diplomatic Reception to Commemorate 73 years of Indonesian Independence

    ​ Commemorating the 73rd Anniversary of Indonesian Independence, Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia in Sydney, Heru Subolo and Madam Sinta Subolo hosted the 2018 Diplomatic Reception at their Residence, Wisma Indonesia in Rosebay (14/8/18). More than 300 distinguished guests attended the event with backgrounds ranging from government, education, business, media and the arts. The Governor of NSW, His Excellency General the Hon David Hurley and Mrs Linda Hurley showed their love and support of Indonesia by once again attending as the Guests of Honour. Selengkapnya

  • Indonesian Comedians The Dandies and Singer Glen Fredly Receive Cheers from the Crowd in Australia

    ​On Saturday night (8/9/18), laughter and cheers could be heard coming from the Seymour Theatre Centre in Chippendale, NSW where famous Indonesian Comedians The Dandies hosted an event ‘Nusantawa’, headlined by one of Indonesia's lead Singers Glen Fredly. Nusantawa was organised by the Indonesian Student Association of the University of Sydney (PPIA USYD). Indonesian Consul General Heru Hartanto Subolo and Madam Sinta Subolo were invited as special guests to the event, accompanied by Consul for Information, Social and Culture Zani Murnia and two staff members, Joanne Hajjar and Pran Radika.​ Selengkapnya

  • Representing Indonesia, Gael wins 2018 Pageant of the World

    ​Gael Cameron, the youngest daughter of Indonesian mother, Sulianti Boenyanto and Scottish father, Allan Cameron was crowned the winner of the Beauty Contest 'Pageant of the World (POTW) 2018' during last night's final (2/9/18) at Doltone House Jones Bay Wharf in Pyrmont, Sydney, Australia. Although she has both Indonesian and Scottish heritage, Gael chose to represent Indonesia at the event. Before being announced as the overall winner of POTW 2018, Gael was also chosen for the Top Model award, which was one of the categories of the POTW 2018 contest. Selengkapnya

    “Putar ke kiri e….nona manis putarlah ke kiri, ke kiri, ke kiri dan ke kiri, ke kiri, ke kiri, ke kiri manis e….”, are a few lyrics of an Indonesian song from Maumere in East Nusa Tenggara, which invited hundreds from the Indonesian community in Sydney to perform the traditonal “Gemu Famire” dance during a flashmob at the Royal Botanical Gardens, less than 50 metres from the iconic Opera House in Sydney. The dance was then followed by several other popular Indonesian dances such as Poco-Poco, Sajojo, and Lagi Syantik. Selengkapnya
