A series of events leading up to the 70th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence 2015 in Chile began with Games and Competitions held on the 8th of August 2015 at the Indonesian Embassy.
Participating in the event were Indonesian citizens based in Chile, the event consisted of two main competitions namely table tennis and card game of Gaplek. In the meantime, adults and children also participated in fun games such as pen in the bottle, coloring competition and game consoles of WII and Playstation.
Events were finalized by a luncheon consisting of traditional Indonesian food such as the bakso dan soto betawi.
Competition Events at the Primary School named Escuela de la Republica de Indonesia Lo Espejo School of the Republic of Indonesia Lo Espejo
In promoting traditional Indonesian games to the students of the Primary School Escuela de la Republica de Indonesia, the Indonesian Embassy had the initiative to hold a Games and Competition Event at the School on the 12th of August 2015. Participated in the event were 150 students from the 1st to the 4th grade.
The event consisted of three main events which were pen in the bottle, eating rengginang and marble running game. These types of events were held in order to conserve Indonesian traditional games and to increase awareness of students about Indonesia.
Events were finalized by introducing traditional Indonesian snacks such as the lemper to the teachers and students of the school.
Flag Ceremony on the 17th of August 2015
On the 17th of August 2015, the Indonesian Embassy in Santiago held a Flag Ceremony Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence. The ceremony was held at the Indonesian Embassy at about 10 am.
Participating in the ceremony were the staff of the Embassy, DWP Santiago, Indonesian Citizens in Chile, visiting Indonesian Citizens, Friends of Indonesia.
Diplomatic Reception Commemorating the 70th Anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence at Marriott Hotel, Santiago Chile
The Diplomatic Reception was held at Marriott Hotel, Santiago Chile on the 25th of August 2015 and was attended by 250 people consisting of High Level Official of the Chilean Government, notable figures, the business community, diplomatic and International Organization circles, civil society, academics, students and Indonesian Citizens of Indonesia and Chile. In the meantime acting as guest of honor, Her Excellency Gloria Navarette Pinto, Director General of Protocol and Ceremony, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Chile.
