Indonesian Consulate General in San Francisco in collaboration with City College of San Francisco (CCSF) and the United Nations Association of San Francisco (UNASF) hosted a reception for the International Student Programs on Friday, January 27, 2012, at Wisma Indonesia, San Francisco.
The event was attended by international students of CCSF, board and faculty member of CCSF, Chairman and member of UNASF, and the consular corps in San Francisco.
The Consul General, Honorable Asianto Sinambela, expressed his gratitude to the CCSF that has provided the opportunity for the Consulate to host a reception for this year's International Student Programs. Honorable Sinambela hoped that through this event cooperation opportunity between Indonesian and U.S. universities can be developed and more importantly understanding about Indonesia among international students can continue to be cultivated.
From the Embassy in Washington DC, the Education Attache was also here to explain the Darmasiswa scholarship program which is not only intended for U.S. students but also students from other countries who wish to learn Indonesian language and Indonesian arts and culture.
Balinese Gabor welcoming dance and Gamelan Gender Wayang performed by Gamelan Sekar Jaya groups enlivened the event. Delicious Indonesian food was also served to to act as culinary diplomacy to the guests in attendance who come from various countries around the world.
