Indonesia Consulate General in San Francisco for the first time has participated on the Bay Area Travel and Adventure Show in Santa Clara Convention Center, February 18 – 19 2012. The Travel & Adventure Show is the nation’s largest active and adventure travel show, showcasing worldwide destinations and vacation packages. Tourism board and tour operators from all around US and all around the world had gathered here to promote their tourist packages, including some of the airlines companies.
The Consulate’s booth consist with lots original decoration such as fabrics from Sumatera and Bali, wooden puppets from Java, and some underwater sea picture from some eastern part of Indonesia. Lots of brochure, pamphlet, and books about Indonesia had been distributed to some eager visitors that want to visit Indonesia. Besides that, the Consulate’s booth also carried some of the promotional packages to Indonesia that had been provided by some local Travel Agents.
In order to maximized Indonesia’s tourism promotion, the Consulate’s include a couple of local people that familiar with lots of diving sites in Indonesia as resource person. The Consulate’s also present couple of Indonesian dances (Jaipong and Rantak Dances) that performed by “Harsanari” Group. There are around 700 people that had visited Consulate’s booth.
