The Consular Office is closed on U.S. federal and Indonesian public holidays.
Foreigners that are planning to visit Indonesia for holiday, family visit, social and cultural, or business purposes may choose one of these types of visa:
1. Visa on Arrival
Foreigners can apply this visa upon arrival in Indonesia, if the nationality included on visa on arrival countries list. Please click this link to check the list of countries eligible for Indonesia visa on arrival: http://www.imigrasi.go.id/index.php/en/public-services/visit-visa#voa-countries
A holder of Visit Visa on Arrival is given 30 days stay and can be extended in Immigration Office for 1 (one) time, to have another 30 days stay
2. Single Entry Visa (211)
Foreigners can apply for single entry visa at the Consulate.
A holder of Single Entry (211) Visa is given up-to 60 days stay and can be extended in Immigration Office for 4 (four) times, each extension will be given another 30 days stay.
3. Multiple Entry Visa (212)
Foreigners that travel frequently to Indonesia for Family, Business, and Governmental visit purposes may apply for Multiple Entry Visa (212).
The Consulate requires that their sponsors apply to the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta, Indonesia for a visa approval. Multiple Visit Visa validity may be valid up to five years. A holder of Multiple Entry (212) Visa is given up-to 60 days stay each visit and can't be extended.
4. Limited Stay Visa
Foreigners who are planning to work or stay for more than 60 days or longer in Indonesia may apply for this type of visa.
To obtain this type of visa, the Consulate requires that their sponsors apply to the Directorate General of Immigration in Jakarta, Indonesia for a pre-approval. Sponsors may access this link to apply for the pre-approval: http://visaonline.imigrasi.go.id/online/index.xhtml?i=0

STARTING THE VISA APPLICATION
Applicants living in Northern California, Northern Nevada, Alaska, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, Washington and Wyoming are requested to access https://consular.embassyofindonesia.org/ to start their applications before submitting to the service counter of the Indonesian Consulate General in San Francisco.

APPLICATION BY MAIL
Applications may be sent by mail. Applications by mail should enclose a paid and addressed envelope (with tracking number) for return shipping. THE CONSULATE IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY APPLICATIONS AND DOCUMENTS THAT ARE LOST/DAMAGED IN TRANSIT.
Before mailing the application, please ensure that all required documents and payment fee have been enclosed. Application submitted without complete requirements will not be processed.

An application is usually completed within three to five working days, starting from the date that the completed application are dropped off directly at the Consular Office. If the application is sent by mail, it generally takes up to five to seven working days, starting from the date that the completed application and payment received by the Consular Office.
Please be noted that there is no expedited process for visa application.
Passport holders from the following countries must obtain pre-approval from the Directorate General of Immigration before applying for visa with fee of $10.00.
Afghanistan, Cameroon, Guinea, Israel, Liberia, Niger, Nigeria, North Korea, Pakistan, Somalia
The Consulate suggests that they get sponsors in Indonesia (individual or organization) that apply in person to the Immigration Office in Indonesia for the pre-approval.
