In order to honor the important role and recognize the contribution of Saudi businesspersons to increase Indonesia exports to Saudi Arabia, the Government of Indonesia conferred two Saudis companies the prestigious Prima Duta Awards. The two companies are Jarir Marketing Company and Mokhbel Al-Khalaf Son's Trading Establishment.
The handover of the Primaduta Award to the winners were symbolically presented directly by President of the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, during the opening ceremony of the 31th Trade Expo Indonesia in Jakarta, 12 October 2016 and received by the Indonesian ambassadors on behalf of the buyers, importers, distributors or selling agents who had become the winner.
To inaugurate the presenting of the award to the Saudi companies, the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia held "The 2016 Primaduta Award Ceremony" which took place at the Indonesian Embassy on 5 December 2016. The award was presented directly by His Excellency Ambassador of Indonesia, Mr. Agus Maftuh Abegebriel to the representative of each winner, and witnessed by dozens of Saudi businesspersons, Indonesian diplomats and other embassy officials.
In his speech, Mr. Agus Maftuh Abegeriel said that Primaduta Award was conferred by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to the importers/buyers who have a loyalty and a strong commitment to doing business with Indonesia.
He further hoped that this award could become a stimulus for the winners and other Saudis companies to increase their imports from Indonesia and further maintain the strong networks with their Indonesian partners, so that the relations that have been established can be nurtured continuously.
He said that in today's world of global uncertainty, cooperation and alliance should be forged better than before. In the context, Mr. Agus said that in order to enhance the relation between Saudi Arabia and Indonesia as He called it "Saunesia", He urged all concerned parties in all level, from governments to businesspersons to work hand-in-hand so that the cooperation between the two countries remains stable and fruitful, particularly in these hard times.
He believe that by working together especially in enhancing the trade cooperation between the two countries, the total trade value between Indonesia and Saudi Arabia could be double to reach US$ 15 billion in 2020.
He emphasized that the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesian in Riyadh will continue to encourage and facilitate the Saudi Arabian businesspersons in developing their networks and cooperation with Indonesian business partners.
Hazeem Mikati from Mokhbeal Al Khalaf Sons Trading Establishment, one of the winner of the Primaduta Award said in his speech, "I hope this award motivates us to continue in strengthening our trade network with Indonesian businessman in the years to come."
While Adel Mazi from Jarir Marketing Company said that he was pleased to deal with Indonesian suppliers as they known for their high commitment and hoped that he can further looking for better opportunity to do business with Indonesian businesspersons.
