The Indonesian Art Delegation made its contribution to enliven the 28th April Spring Friendship Art Festival (ASFAF). This biennale art festival which held in Pyongyang, DPR of Korea on 11-19 April 2012, was specifically more special because it was being organized this year to coincide with the commemoration of the centenary birth anniversary of President Kim Il Sung on 15 April 2012.
This year, the Indonesian Delegation is headed by Inspector-General of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy, I Gusti Putu Laksaguna. Accompanying the Delegation is the Indonesian art troupe Surya Vocalia consisting of 7 artists. At the inaugural ceremony of the 28th ASFAF held in East Pyongyang Grand Theatre on 11 April 2012, greetings of friendship from Indonesia was also conveyed before the audience consisting of 55 delegates from 24 countries filling up the grand theatre building.
Through out the duration of the festival, Indonesia through the Surya Vocalia group perform numbers of Indonesian iconic local songs such as Sing Sing So and Sik Sik Batu Manikam, and also Korean traditional songs such as Arirang and Late Night in Pyongyang with Indonesian music composition being played with the accompaniment of the Korean music by State Symphony Orchestra.
