On 11 October 2012, the Indonesian Ambassador to DPRK Nasri Gustaman travelled to Nampho Port outside Pyongyang to welcome the arrival and to witness the opening of the cargo container and the hand-over of the Indonesian food assistance for DPR of Korea. The ceremony was organized and attended by the WFP Representative Claudia von Roehl and the Government of DPR of Korea represented by officials from Nampho City People's Committee.
Indonesia's US $ 2 millions donation takes the form of 1,465 metric tons of palmolein oil which will be used to make supplies of blended foods enriched with vitamins and minerals to be distributed directly to the Korean beneficiaries, especially the most vulnarable lactating mothers and children across the country.
"I am very pleased to see the arrival of the food supply in a country where it is needed urgently", Ambassador Nasri said in Nampho. Ambassador Nasri also witnessed the transporting from the container terminal to the port warehouse. He was briefed by WFP Country Director Roehl on how WFP handles the distribution process to the final destinations.
