Darmasiswa Scholarship Program



We from the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia herewith inform to those who may have (directly or indirectly) an interest, that the Ministry of Education and Culture in cooperation with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) of the Republic of Indonesia in the year 2015-2016 will once again offer to foreign students a One Year non-degree Darmasiswa Scholarship Program (DSP) to study Bahasa Indonesia, arts, music, crafts, and particular subject in 53 selected Indonesian Higher Education Institutions (HIE) in different cities in Indonesia.


The main purpose of the DSP is to increase and foster interest in Bahasa Indonesia and Indonesian culture among citizens from other countries; to enhance mutual understanding and provide stronger cultural link among different countries.


The 2015-2016 DSP is offered to 660 students which consist of 50% to study Bahasa Indonesia, 45% to study arts and culture, and the rest 5% to study other subjects, with the following preconditions:


1.            The participants to DSP should come from those who are still studying in universities or HIE; he/ she should be nominated by his/ her university or HIE;

2.            He/ she should have a passport with the minimum validity of 18 months;

3.            He/ she should firstly determine which city will be chosen for his/ her place of university/ HIE and the chosen place will not be altered after his/ her arrival (the information on each city could be obtained through the attached website and e-mail;

4.            He/ she obliges to read, understand, and sign Darmasiswa Contract, which contains all stipulation related to rights and obligations; academic and non-academic regulations; and administrative and financial regulations;

With regard to the financial support, students will get monthly stipend every month for Rp.2.000.000 (two million rupiah) as details: Living cost (Rp.1.200.000); Book allowance (Rp.200.000); Local transport (Rp.200.000); Medical/health care (Rp.200.000); and Pocket money (Rp.200.000). Students will be provided with accomodation and transportation during the Orientation Program if the participants arrive in time with the schedule from the Ministry of Education and Culture; and Students will get settlement allowance when attending the Orientation Program.
