Celebration of Eid ul-Fitr 1431 H at the Indonesian General Consulate in Noumea


The Joy of the Eid ul-Fitr 1431 H has been felt as the “Takbiran” (night of Takbir) was organized on 9 September 2010 at 9:30 local time at the multipurpose room of the Indonesian Consulate General in Noumea and continued on the next day in the morning to express the joy.


The highlight of this holiday was the Eid prayer which also took place at the Indonesian Consulate General. Around fifty Moslems of the Indonesian Community in New Caledonia has arrived at the Consulat General since 7 a.m. and recited the takbir and the tahmid until the prayer began at 8 a.m. with Mr. Zaenin Ridwan acted as the Imam and the Khatib of the prayer.


It is thanks to a mutual cooperation with the Indonesian Moslem Association of New Caledonia that the Consulate General of Indonesia could organize such event on the occasion of Eid ul-Fitr and create a holiday atmosphere same like in Indonesia. For this, in her discourse, Ms Sulastriningsih, the Consul General ad Interim, conveyed her sincere thanks to all personnel of the Association.


No party without big meal and no Eid ul-Fitr without mutual forgiveness. Therefore, the Consul General a.i. hosted an Eid festivity that started at 5 pm to 7 pm. For the second time in one day, the Indonesian community in New Caledonia gathered at the Indonesian Consulate General’s compound. At this joyful occasion, around 300 peoples were squeezing their hands before savoring Indonesian Eid ul-Fitr specialty dishes, namely Ketupat, Opor, etc.
