Kemitraan Negara Berkemang (Developing Countries Partnership/KNB) Scholarship is a financial assistance offered by the Government of the Republic of Indonesia to international students from developing countries to pursue Master's Degree (and some for bachelor degree) in Indonesian Universities. There are 53 programmes offered, ranging from public administration to informatics engineering in 16 of Indonesia's best universities.
The Scholarship was first introduced by Ministry of Education and Culture in 1992. It initially serves the Ministry's higher education development strategic plan to embrace the higher education globalization by providing financial assistance (scholarship) to selected Indonesian Universities to recruit potential International students to get their Master's Degree in our Universities. Realizing the program's significant contribution to the human resources development within Indonesia's neighboring developing countries, the Government of Indonesia decided to expand the program coverage and increase the number of the scholarship offered. Between 2009 – 2017, Indonesia have been awarding 992 scholarships to students coming from 71 developing countries around the world.
