The Wonderful Indonesia Festival, showcasing popular tourism destinations as well as the diversity of Indonesian culture, is making a return to Oman from April 27 to 28 at Oman Avenues Mall. The event was first held in Oman in November 2017, bringing tour operators as well as traditional dancers from Indonesia to the Sultanate to present an authentic Indonesian experience to Oman.
The two-day event at Oman's biggest shopping center will provide visitors with a chance to find a plethora of travel package deals while enjoying Indonesian traditional dances and coffee. Guests will also have opportunity to win various prizes from games that will test their knowledge about Indonesia.
In the last few years, Indonesia has been growing as a popular tourism destination for Omanis. Statistics showed that in 2017, Oman ranked second among Middle East countries with more than 16.000 visitors to Indonesia, behind only Saudi Arabia. Last year's increase of more than 33% also placed Oman third, after Russia and China, in terms of growth in visitors to the archipelago.
Following the festival, the Embassy and the Ministry of Tourism will host The Wonderful Indonesia Table Top Meeting on April 29 at Crowne Plaza Hotel where Omani travel operators can meet their potential partners from Indonesia. A total of seven companies will be present, including two hotel chains. Two lucky winners will receive free roundtrip ticket to Jakarta, courtesy of Oman Air.
