Indonesia Opens Registration to KNB Scholarship for Master and Bachelor Programs

​​The Government of Indonesia has opened the registration to apply for the KNB (Kemitraan Negara Berkembang) Scholarship to foreign students from selected countries. The KNB Scholarship started in 1992 and has admitted more than 1000 students from over 70 countries around the world. This year, the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education of the Republic of Indonesia is offering 140 master programs and 5 bachelor programs at one of 16 prominent universities throughout the country.

Medium of Instruction:

  1. All courses will be delivered in Indonesian Language;
  2. Thesis should be written in Indonesian Language, unless the university suggests otherwise;
  3. Research should be carried out in Indonesia;


Coverage and Duration:

Scholarship will cover (1) settlement allowance upon arrival in Indonesia, (2) living allowance while taking the Indonesian Language and preparatory program, (3) monthly allowance, (4) health insurance, (5) round-trip international airfare from the students' home country to Indonesia and local transport to the host university.

Requirements:

  1. No older than 35 years of age;
  2. Must hold a bachelor degree (master degree is not eligible to apply);
  3. Applicants must have a minimum TOEFL score of 500 (or equivalent);
  4. Applicants must complete the online application form;
  5. Prior to departure to Indonesia, successful candidate must sign the Statement Letter and Scholarship Agreement prepared by the KNB Management.


How to Apply:

Student must submit the required documents that includes all the following items:

  1. Recommendation letter from the Embassy of Indonesia in Muscat;
  2. Nomination letter from the respective government official;
  3. Two Academic Recommendation letters;
  4. Scanned passport (personal data page only) or birth certificate;
  5. Scanned bachelor certificate and academic transcripts (in English);
  6. Scanned TOEFL score certificate obtained within the last 2 years;
  7. Scanned Medical Statement from a certified physician.


Application Procedures:

  1. Download the Invitation Letter posted in the KNB Scholarship website (http://www.knb.ristekdikti.go.id);
  2. Submit the Invitation letter, Passport, Academic Certificates and Academic Transcripts to the Indonesian Embassy to acquire the recommendation letter;
  3. Complete the online application process;
  4. Selection process;
  5. The Selection Results will be announced online at the KNB Scholarship Website and officially announced through the Indonesian Embassy publication network.

 

Schedule:

  • Interested candidates should submit their applications no later than 30th April 2018
  • Selection process will be conducted on the first week of May 2018
  • Selection result will be announced on the second week of June 2018
  • Students are expected to arrive in Jakarta on August 2018
