Indonesian Wood and Natural Fibre Furniture showcased at Furnitex 2013

At the Furnitex 2013, which was held in Melbourne Convention Centre from 18 – 21 July 2013, one could easily spot the Indonesia stall, ‘Indonesian wood and natural fibres furniture’ among the other exhibitors’ stalls. This year, the Indonesian Consulate General in Melbourne has invited two Melbourne based furniture companies, Cane Java and Turendav, to participate at the furniture expo. The fair is open to international exhibitor since 2013.

Furnitex is Australasia's largest furniture and furnishings Trade Fair showcasing the latest designs from Australian furniture manufacturers and importers. During the fair furniture and furnishing buying groups, retailers, interior designers, decorators and architects have the opportunity to see and buy the latest products, learn the latest industry developments and network with their business partners.
The furniture being displayed are made of mahogany wood and cane, including dining set, living set, display cabinet, tables and many other items. Apart from furniture, several decorative items made of wood are also displayed, such as miniature wooden motor cycle and wooden Indonesian traditional ships. Interests of visitors towards Indonesian products are positive, and it is hoped that more Indonesian furniture products will be displayed at many furniture retail stores. For next year Furnitex, the Indonesian Consulate General, plans to bring more Indonesian furniture companies to display and promote their products to the prospective Australian market.
