Participation of 28 SME's was well received by the Philippine public as well as Indonesian's living in Manila.

Also highlighted were the many beautiful destinations presented by way of video presentations, as well as cultural performances, ranging from the music and dances from the Provinces of South Sumatera, Bali and Jakarta.  A number of airlines and major tour operators were present to lend their support to the Embassy's annual event, offering different packages to all destinations across Indonesia.

Apart from Philippine Airlines, Garuda Indonesia, Cebu Pacific, Malaysia Air, Singapore Airlines and Royal Brunei Airlines which flies regularly to Indonesia, also present was Scoot, which had just launched its flight to Indonesia earlier in the year.

Authentic Indonesian cuisine was offered by Bali Ayu and Warung Kapitolyo, offering such well known dishes as Beef Rendang, Ayam Penyet and Gado-gado.  While a favorite soup dish known locally as Bakso, aka beef balls, was also on-hand for those preferring lighter meals.

Throughout the 2-day event; formally opened by the Indonesian Ambassador to the Philippines, H.E. Sinyo Harry Sarundajang with the attendance of the Ambassadors of Brunei Darussalam, Malaysia, Cambodia, Vietnam, Singapore and Timor-Leste as well as Philippine officials and businessmen;

The Embassy offered a variety of programs, which received warm reception of the invitees, and mall patrons, including cultural performances,  fashion shows, a business forum as well as batik painting workshops.

The fashion show started by displaying the diversity of Indonesia's culture from 20 out of the 34 Provinces in Indonesia, through different matrimonial dresses usually adorned by the bride and groom on their wedding day.  This was followed by a number of collections that highlighted the vast range of batik designs and material that are ready-to-wear.  Batik Paring, Hasan Batik and Daminten Weave's designs received numerous ovations coming from the 186 invited guests, as well as the countless mall shoppers.

The participation of 10 amateur models that went up and down the runway was welcomed with applause, especially once the audience knew that they were 2018 fresh graduates in Hospitality Management from the Lyceum of the Philippines in Manila.

Appreciation towards the complexity of making batik designs, was highlighted by a batik painting workshop which utilized the age old traditions of painting colored molten wax on individually designed pieces of cloth.  Ms. Inne of Batik Paring, elegantly explained the intricate process of painting a batik cloth, in a simplified manner, that resulted in an over-quota of participants from the intended number.  During the two sessions, participation from 42 people was registered.

To complete the business aspect of the event, a briefing was conducted by Baline Chocolate, Safe Care Co., Kimia Farma, and Maharani Handicrafts, which resulted in opening up discussions with possible Philippine distributors of their product.  The Trade Attache also presented the upcoming Trade Expo Indonesia 2018, to be held in Jakarta 24-28 October 2018.

The B2B event opened by the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy, Ms. Budi Dhewajani, was also graced by the participation of the Consul General of Indonesia in Davao City, Mr. Berlian Napitupulu, who delivered possibilities of bilateral trade and investments through the Southern part of the Philippines, targeting markets in the Northern and Eastern parts of Indonesia.
