The Tourism Association of Halal Travel Agencies (TAHTA) of Lombok, Indonesia recently organized a Familiarization Tour dubbed as “Lombok Labbaik: Lombok Epicentrum Halal World" from 22 to 25 March 2018.
The underlying purpose of the tour is to promote Lombok province as The World's Best Halal Tourism Destination and The World's Best Halal Honeymoon Destination. Lombok has been holding these titles since 2015 from World Halal Tourism Awards.
The Familiarization trip was participated by 15 countries from across the globe: Iraq, Egypt, Cambodia, Malaysia, China, Thailand, Sudan, Singapore, Philippines and a lot more. The participants from each country were welcomed by the President of TAHTA, Bapak Adnan, who believed that this event will open the door of Lombok for everyone to experience its world-class amenities, breath-taking views, pristine beaches, spectacular marine life, not to mention its delectable cuisine. It offers a silent sanctuary because most of its beautiful spots are left intact.
Headed by the Indonesian Embassy in Manila, Ms. Trini Gunarti, Minister Counsellor for Social and Cultiral Affairs, the Philippine delegation flew in via AirAsia (who happens to be Embassy's co-sponsor) from Manila to Jakarta and took connecting flight to Lombok and vice versa. The 16-man delegation comprised of the following: Embassy representatives; Ministry of Foreign Affairs-Indonesia; AirAsia; Living Asia Channel, The Philippine Star; Travel UP!; Blue Horizon Travel Resources; Uni Orient Travel & Tours; Getaway Tours International; Travel People Ltd.; Arfel Travel & Tours; and Inter Argo ISS GMT.
Lombok is situated in West Nusa Tenggara, an island in the east of Bali. Some says it is Bali – 20 years ago. Among the famous places that must-go to are: 1) the Gili Islands, where Gili Trawangan makes it to the top list; 2) Senggigi is the main tourist area of Lombok; 3)Merese Hills in Kuta; 4) Kuta Mandalika; 5) Saraka Village; 6) Islamic Center; 7) Hindu Temples; and 8) Sasak Village.
