The Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia in Manila along with 26 Indonesian small and medium enterprises (SMEs) recently participated in the Manila FAME 2018 Expo at the World Trade Center in Manila, from 19 to 21 April 2018.
FAME is one of the largest annual exhibitions in the Philippines, highlighting growing fashion trends, furniture ideas and home decoration initiatives. Approximately 300 exhibitors graced this year's event, attracting thousands of corporate buyers and consumers each day.
Indonesia's Ambassador to the Philippines, Palau and Marshall Islands, HE Sinyo Harry Sarundajang, welcomed the participation of so many SMEs from Indonesia, and conveyed his hope that they would be able to take full advantage of this event, to generate transactions, and cultivate possible business ventures with Philippine businesses and consumers.
Secretary Ramon Lopez of the Department of Trade and Industry stated during the ribbon-cutting ceremony, that he hoped there will be an increase in transactions from the tally achieved in last year's show, which reached Php 302 million (USD 5,8 million).
The participation of so many Indonesian SMEs was due to the collaboration of the Embassy of Indonesia in Manila (Trade Attache and Economic Offices), with Indonesia's Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.
During the event, The Embassy of Indonesia also promoted 2 major exhibitions to be hosted by Indonesia this year, which are the APKASI Otonomi Expo 2018 (6-8 July 2018) and the 33rd Trade Expo Indonesia (24-28 October 2018).
