The Embassy of the Republic of
Indonesia in Kyiv, supported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic
of Indonesia, Ministry of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy
of the Republic of Indonesia, Ministry of Industry of the Republic of
Indonesia, Ministry of Forestry of the Republic of Indonesia, Ministry of
Marine Affairs and Fisheries of the Republic of Indonesia, in cooperation with
Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Ministry of Economic Development and
Trade of Ukraine, Ukrainian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and American
Chamber of Commerce will hold an integrated solo
exhibition entitled "Windows to Indonesia 2013" that exhibits the
finest products and services from Indonesia. The Exhibition will be held on
24-26 May 2013 at the Ukrainian House, Kyiv.
In its Annual Press Statement on 4
January 2013, the Indonesian Foreign Minister noted that until mid-2012,
non-traditional export markets of Indonesia in Africa, the Middle East and
Eastern Europe increased over the same period last year (Africa up by 46%,
Middle East up by 43% and Eastern Europe up by 87%). The Foreign Minister also
added that seeking out for new opportunities and to penetrate non-traditional
markets will be continued as part of Indonesia's future economic diplomacy.
Ukraine is currently aimed as one of the robust non-traditional markets for
Indonesia's export commodities. With a population of 45 million people, Ukraine
is the second largest market after Russia in Eastern Europe. The trade value
between the two countries peaked in 2008 at US$ 1.4 billion, while in 2012 the
trade value between Indonesia and Ukraine had reached US$ 1.32 billion.
Indonesia’s integrated
exhibition "Windows in Indonesia"
- an event which demonstrate not only
the best products and services of
Indonesia, also visitors will be able to enjoy traditional Indonesian cuisine, to watch fashion show made by
Indonesian designers and enjoy a
cultural program included traditional
dances and the traditional music
of Indonesia.
With the Exhibition, the Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv hopes
that the government’s and public’s understanding of the trade potential between
Indonesia and Ukraine can be increased, which in turn will support the
increased cooperation between the two countries, especially in economics and
trade.
