Kyiv, 15.01.2011. The Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv received a Diploma award from the Foundation “Orphans-Our Children” for participation in social activities with orphaned children conducted by this foundation. The Diploma was handed over to the Ambassador of Indonesia by Mrs. Natalia Uvarova, Director of the Foundation, at the New Year celebration organized for the orphans at the entertainment center “Freedom” in Kyiv on Saturday, January 15, 2011. The event was attended by government official, foundation partners and a number of journalists. The event was enlivened by performances of Ukrainian artists. Mrs. Natalia Uvarova thanked the Embassy for cooperation and care about the fate of orphaned children, who are under patronage of her foundation. On that occasion, the Ambassador of Indonesia Nining Suningsih Rochadiat expressed her gratitude for this award and stated that the Embassy will continue to support the foundation's projects through various social activities which are planned together with the foundation for orphaned children.
”Orphans-Our Children” is a charitable foundation in Ukraine, which deals with orphaned children aged 12-17 years by providing them with psychological counseling, giving attention, motivating the children to support a spirit of optimism and positive thinking as well as by finding parents-tutors with the aim of preparing orphaned children in Ukraine for their independent life in the society. The foundation received full support from local government, embassies of friendly countries, entrepreneurs and individual donors and has already managed to help some orphans to prepare for their independent life and to work in accordance with their capabilities. On November 27, 2010 the Indonesian Embassy in Kyiv invited these children to the Embassy with for an interesting socio-cultural events, which included interaction with the staff of the Embassy, participation in the games, Indonesian food and the introduction of Indonesian culture (playing together angklung – Indonesian music instrument, and watching films about Indonesia).
