VISA-EXEMPTED TRAVEL TO INDONESIA

The Presidential Decree No. 21 Year 2016 on Visa Free Visit for 169 countries and special regions, including Ukraine, Georgia, and the Republic of Armenia, has been stipulated on the grounds of:

 

  • Improving the relations of the Republic of Indonesia with other countries, it has been deemed necessary that citizens of foreign countries, governments of special administrative regions of foreign countries, and certain entities to be given simple access to enter the territory of the Republic of Indonesia that is implemented in the form of exemption from the obligation to have a visitor's visa based upon the principles of reciprocity and mutual benefits;

 

  • Creating an increase of economical benefits in general and an increase in the number of tourists in particular, it has been deemed necessary to revise the number of foreign countries, special administrative regions of foreign countries, and certain entities that is exempted from the obligation to have a visitor's visa;

 

            Based on the Regulation of the Minister of Justice and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia No. 17 Year 2016 on Specific Immigration Checkpoints, Requirements and Purpose of Travel for Foreign Citizens Entitled to Visa-exempted Travel, we would like to hereby inform all citizens of Ukraine, Georgia and the Republic of Armenia of the following provisions of entering and exiting the territory of Indonesia:

 

PURPOSE OF VISIT

 

Foreign citizens entitled to visa-exempted travel may enter the territory of Indonesia only for the following purposes of visit:

 

  1. Leisure/ Tourism;
  2. Family visits;
  3. Social;
  4. Art and Cultural;
  5. Government visits;
  6. To give lectures or to attend seminars,
  7. To participate in international conferences or conventions;
  8. To attend a meeting held by a Head office or Representative office that is located in Indonesia; and
  9. To transit or continue traveling to another country.

 

This regulation DOES NOT apply for travelers visiting Indonesia for more than 30 (thirty) days or for conducting journalistic activities.

 

LENGTH OF STAY

 

Foreign citizens entitled to visa-exempted travel will be granted a Visit Stay Permit valid for a maximum of 30 (thirty) days which is not extendable and cannot be converted into another type of stay permit.

REQUIREMENTS

 

  1. A valid travel document with a minimum validity of 6 (six) months from the departure date from Indonesia;
  2. A return (flight, boat, or ferry) ticket or details of onward journey;
