Indonesian-Sindhi Cultural Show in Larkana, to Celebrate “Long Live Indonesia-Pakistan Friendship”


The Indonesian Consulate General has always been trying to bring more knowledge about Indonesia by attending and arranging events and functions in Sindh Province. Recently, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in collaboration with the District Coordination Officer Larkana conducted a wonderful program of Indonesian-Sindhi Cultural Show, on June 5, 2010. The mixing of Indonesian Dances with Sindhi Dances was arranged so beautifully that every one was very impressed.


In his opening speech the Acting Consul General thanked the gathering and management of District Government Larkana for witnessing this Cultural Show. He said that these kinds of Shows are the source to create people to people contact directly and provides a perfect platform to understand each other more precisely. The Acting Consul General further said that Indonesia has a very rich background of Culture as well as the land of Sindh also has a very rich culture history and hence both the brotherly nations have many similarities in this field. 


He further said that he is going to present the wording of Soekarno Chowk as to celebrate the opening of the renovation of Soekarno Chowk Memorial.  He feel himself  so happy in enlightening that the great city of Larkana, the birth place of a number of very renowned personalities like Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and also the great leaders are taking rest in the soils of Larkana, like Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Muhtarma Benazir Bhutto and the family of great Bhuttos.  It is also a matter of proud and contentment for him that Larkana has the memorial of Indonesian great leader President of the Republic of Indonesia, Ir. Soekarno. This is not only a symbol of friendship between the two brotherly countries but also the sign of cooperation and brotherhood.


6 (six) different Indonesian Traditional Dances from various provinces of Indonesia are performed such as : Puspawresti, Tanjung Katung, Piring, Blantek and Poco-Poco, while Sindhi Artist performed 4 (four) dances such as : Munja Maruninda Mukhe Watiwinda, Chirag Jalai Bujenai and etc. The audience including children and women were looking very happy to watch the great performance.  They said that they have never saw such a wonderful program in Larkana in their life.


Mr. Ameer Ali Abro, DDO Larkana in his address thanked the Acting Consul General and his team for conducting the Indonesia-Sindhi Cultural Show in Larkana Arts Council. He said that the friendship between Indonesia and Pakistan are centuries old which is improving day by day.  He said that such event should continue in future to further create love and affection between the people of the two brotherly nations.  At the end, DDO gives souvenir “Ajrak”  to all of Indonesian delegation.
