An Indonesian-Sindhi Product Exhibition was held on Saturday the 5th of June, 2010 at Green Palace Hotel Larkana.
Around eight companies participated in the Exhibition from Karachi, who were the importers of Indonesian products, i.e. Ceramic Tiles, Floor Tiles, Decoration tiles, Paper & Paper & Paper Products, Crockery, Food Products, Confectionary, Auto Spare Parts, Soaps etc., while one company from the District Government Larkana and four companies from the Larkana Chamber of Commerce & Industry displayed Sindhi products, like Rice, Handicrafts, Guava, Ajrak, Sindhi Caps etc.
The Acting Consul General of the Republic of Indonesia, Karachi, Trigustono Supriyanto arrived to open the Exhibition along with DDO Larkana, Mt. Ameer Ali Abro at 09.30 am by cutting a Red and White Ribbon.
In his opening remarks the Acting Consul General expressed his gratitude with the blessings of Allah the Almighty and thanked the District Government Larkana and the Exhibitors for participating in the Exhibition and extending their kind cooperation to achieve complete access and achievements.
The Acting Consul General also highlighted the economic challenges being faced by Indonesia and Pakistan and how Indonesia has overcome successfully by empowering their people to best of their ability by creating the opportunities of strong trade partnership, better networking system and by exploring the prospect and opportunities to the world markets.
The Acting Consul General also explained the purpose of holding such Exhibition in Larkana and said he was providing an opportunity to the Business Community of Pakistan especially of Larkana, Sindh to explore the new avenues of trade and economic cooperation in order to enhance the existing trade volume between the two brotherly countries. He was very optimistic to gain vast experience and encouragements from this Exhibition and hoped that such events also provides excellent platform to the Business Communities to understand each other by introducing their products to the people of both the countries. He also offered the Business Community of Sindh to come forward with their proposals and suggestions to further improve the trade volume and trade relations.
A large number of Larkana citizens who visited the Exhibition were showing their interest about Indonesia, culture and the people. The visitors took many pictures of the Indonesian Stall and were looking quite happy that they were observing such kind of International Exhibition first time in their lives. They were very ambitious to collect more and more information about Indonesia. 30 numbers of Electronic and Print Media covered this grand event. The Exhibition continued until 07.00 pm and concluded with great success as hundreds of Larkana citizens attended the Exhibition and showed their intense interest in the Indonesian products.
