More Than 100 Businesspersons from Afghanistan Participated in 32nd Trade Expo Indonesia

KBRI Kabul - 32nd Trade Expo Indonesia (TEI) has been held on 11 – 15 October 2017 at the International Convention Exhibition (ICE), BSD City, Banten. About 114 Afghan businesspersons from various sectors such as pharmaceuticals, logistic, construction, electronic, stationery, trading, fashion and agriculture machinery, actively took part in this exhibition. This event also attended by the representative of Afghanistan Chamber of Commerce and Industries (ACCI) and Katib University.

During the event, the delegation attended Business Forum which was organized by Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industries (KADIN Indonesia) and Business Match-making which was organized by Directorate for South and Central Asia Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia at Grand Zuri Hotel, on 12th October 2017. Afghan business delegation also visited pre-cast factory of PT. Wijaya Karya (WIKA) Tbk. in Cibinong, Bogor and WIKA Training Center in Gadog, Bogor. The next day, the delegation was invited to a business meeting with PT. Bersama Zatta Jaya (eLcorps) at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), Jakarta.

The transaction value between Afghan businesspersons and Indonesian companies during the Trade Expo is around USD. 1,348,800 for various of products such as medicine, soap, and cooking oil. Besides that, there is potential transaction around USD1,35 million and potential investment around USD2 million in various business sectors.

Delegation from Afghanistan conveyed their satisfaction in participating Trade Expo in Indonesia, especially for the facilities which have been provided by Indonesian Embassy in Kabul and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs during the preparation and the programs. Most of the delegation from Afghanistan are visiting Indonesia for the first time and they said that they really interested to establish and enhance trade as well as investment cooperation with Indonesia. Furthermore, Indonesian Embassy in Kabul as representative of Indonesia will continue to promote and to improve economic cooperation between Indonesia and Afghanistan through coordination with ACCI in realizing the establishment of Indonesia – Afghanistan Business Council which will be significant as a platform for trade and investment cooperation between the two brotherly countries.
