This year, Indonesian Embassy in Harare once again participated in Sanganai / Hlanganani Tourism Exhibition organized by the Zimbabwe Tourism Authority on 16-18 October 2014 at the Harare International Convention Centre (HICC), Harare. The event was participated by 101 companies / organizations / institutions both from Zimbabwe and internationally.
The Indonesian Embassy’s stand chose Indonesian traditional costumes as this year’s theme to promote various regions in Indonesia by providing limited opportunities for visitors to wear the traditional costumes and accessories and take pictures with Jatayu sculpture as the background. This theme was taken since the Embassy has a large number of costumes collections. In addition to the costumes, the stand also displays wood carving which tells the story of Ramayana and the traditional musical instruments such as the gamelan and angklung.
Uniqueness and ethnic nuances displayed in the Embassy’s stand Harare has made it to be in the category "Best International Stand" and was awarded "2nd Best International Stand." The first won by India Tourism and the third place won by the Zambia Tourism. Tourism and Hospitality Industry Minister, Mr. Walter Mzembi attended the Awards Night to give the awards to the winners.
