?Indonesian Embassy in Hanoi, in collaboration with Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) and Indonesia Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) held the 1st Indonesia-Vietnam Investment and Business Forum” in Hanoi on 4 April 2013. The aim of the Forum is to enhance cooperation and tightened the relation between Indonesia and Vietnam businessman as well as to explore investment opportunity in the two countries.
In his opening speech, Indonesian Ambassador to Vietnam, H.E Mayerfas, invited Vietnamese to explore and attain deeper insights into Indonesia’s investment and business climate along with the opportunities and advantages of the highly potential market of Indonesia for foreign investors. Deputy Chairman of Investment Cooperation, BKPM, Mr. Achmad Kurniadi, informed the forum about Indonesia’s investment achievement in 2012 while encouraging the participants to take advantage of investment opportunity to enhance the cooperation between Indonesia and Vietnam. Mr.Pham Quang Thinh, Deputy Director of the International Relations Department of VCCI, greatly welcomed the Investment and Business Forum and hoped that through the Forum, Indonesia-Vietnam cooperation especially between businessmen could enhance.
In the Presentation Session, Director of International Business Cooperation Department of BKPM presented information on investing in Indonesia; while general information on taxation in Vietnam was delivered by Deputy Director General of Policy Department, Vietnam General Department of Taxation. Director of Ciputra Group-Hanoi presented housing project currently conducted by the Ciputra Group as well as the upcoming projects. A fruitful discussion also conducted between the speakers and the participants.
The Forum was held in VCCI Building-Hanoi and was attended by around 100 participants, representing 80 Vietnamese companies and 7 Indonesian companies in Vietnam (Ciputra Hanoi, PT Vietmindo Energitama, PT Semen Gresik Tbk, Japfa Comfeed Vietnam, PT Lautan Luas Vietnam, PT Akebono Brake Astra Vietnam). The Forum was also attended by officials from Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT), Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Indonesia Acting Consul General in Ho Chi Minh City.
