On March 5-8, 2018 the Consul General of the
Republic of Indonesia, Dr. Bambang Susanto accompanied by the Consul for Socio
Cultural Affairs and Vice Consul for Economic Affairs attended the workshop
meeting between the city of Padang and the city of Hildesheim in commemoration
of 30 years of sister city relations between the two cities in 2018.
The delegation from the city of Padang was led
by the Assistant for Government Affairs while Hildesheim was represented by Dr.
Ingo Meyer, Lord Mayor of Hildesheim. The workshop meeting was attended by
officials of both cities.
Various topics for cooperation were discussed
during the meeting, namely the environment, fire and disaster management, urban
planning and development, industrial traineeship, as well as revitalization of
heritage buildings. These projects are expected to begin during the official
visit by the Lord Mayor of Hildesheim to Padang in August 2018.
At the sidelines of the meeting, the Consul
general also took this opportunity to conduct a courtesy call with the Lord
Mayor. The Consul General expressed his hope that both cities can mark the 30
year anniversary of sister-city relations with concrete outcomes and stated
that the Indonesian Consulate General stands ready to facilitate the efforts of
both cities in enhancing their sister-city cooperation.
