Indonesia Collaborates Resilience Education Cooperation with Jordan

Amman, October 17, 2018: Indonesian National Resilience Institute (LEMHANNAS RI) and the Royal Jordanian National Defense College (RJNDC) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Education, Training and Strategic Studies in the Defense and Security Field that took place in Amman (17/10). The signing of the MoU was carried out by the Governor of LEMHANNAS RI, TNI Lieutenant General (Ret.) Agus Widjojo, from the Indonesian side, and Brigadier General Abdullah. S. Al Shdaift, as the RJNDC Commander, from Jordan.

The event was also attended by KUAI Embassy in Amman Jordan, Ary Raharjo, Head of LEMHANNAS RI International Cooperation Office, First Admiral Budi Setiawan, S.T; Head of LEMHANNAS RI Foreign Cooperation Division, AU Colonel Rujito Dibyo Asmoro; Second Secretary of the Indonesian Embassy in Amman, Ade Safira; Defense Attache of the Indonesian Embassy in Cairo, Colonel Kemas; LEMHANNAS Governor ADC, Captain Taufik Ismail; and RJNDC faculty leader.

The RJNDC commander said that Jordan wanted to learn a lot from Indonesia's experience in maintaining the unity and security towards its thousands of islands and diversity. On the other hand, the Governor of LEMHANNAS RI emphasized that LEMHANNAS also wanted to learn Jordan's experience of Jordan in maintaining its national security in the midst of an unstable Middle East political situation.

The signing of the MoU was aimed at increasing cooperation in the fields of education, training and strategic assessment in the field of defense and security. Both countries are aware and willing to increase this cooperation because basically the two countries have established diplomatic relations since 1950.

The signing of this Memorandum of Understanding was considered important because both parties stated that they needed to conduct strategic studies on the latest regional and international issues in the field of defense and security. Both parties also realized the importance of the need to improve cooperation and to help each other in the implementation of education, training and strategic studies in the field of defense and security.
