Indonesian Ambassador Attended New Year Shery Party to Strengthen Relation


Ambassador of the Republic of Indonesia to Tanzania, Zakaria Anshar, attended New Year Sherry Party hold by H.E Jakaya Kikwete at State House, Friday (9/1). The sherry party was hosted for heads of diplomatic missions and international organizations to strengthen cooperation and good relation.

In his remarks, Kikwete among others look forward to cooperation and support from partner countries in educational sector. In 2014, several countries supported educational improvement in Tanzania. Kikwete said Tanzania needs school laboratory, teacher, and text books to reach a better future in education.

“I would like to use this opportunity to thank our development partners for their support. We look forward to your cooperation and support as you have done in the past,”said Kikwete.

In this regards, since 1970’s, Indonesia contributed actively in improving Tanzania’s capacity building in many sectors by providing special training in agriculture, marine , health and defence.  In 2014, Indonesia granted Developing Countries Partnership (KNB) scholarship for two Tanzanian students, to pursue Master degree in Airlangga University and Bogor Agricultural Institute.

On Saturday (10/1) in the State House, Tanzania’s First Lady, Salma Kikwete, invited spouses of head of diplomatic missions and international organizations to attend New Year Sherry. Participated in the event, Indonesian Ambassador’s wife, Siti Hamidah Mahali,.
