Embassy's History

The Indonesian Embassy in Amman has two state accreditations, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the State of Palestine.

The history of diplomatic relations between Indonesia and Jordan started in 1950. Indonesia opened the Indonesian Embassy in Amman Jordan since 1985 and opened its embassy in Jakarta in November 1986.

Meanwhile, bilateral relations with the Palestinians started on October 19, 1989 also marks the opening of the Embassy of the State of Palestine in Jakarta. Embassy in Amman to obtain accreditation for the Palestinians since June 1, 2004.

Until 2016, the Indonesian Embassy in Amman has been led by eight ambassadors, Ambassador, Ambassador H. Zainul Yasni (1985 – 1988), Ambassador Sumaryo Suryokusumo (1988 – 1991), Muhammad Hasan Adamy (1991 – 1995), Ambassador Eddy Sumantri (1995 – 1999), Ambassador Edhi Murti Sunoko (1999 – 2002), Ambassador Ribhan Abdul Wahab (2003 – 2006), Ambassador Zainulbahar Noor (2009 – 2012), Ambassador Teguh Wardoyo (2013 – Januari 2017), and Ambassador​ Andy Rachmianto
