German Chancellor Angela Merkel Will Visit Indonesia

President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, said during the joint press conference with the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, that there will be a “window of opportunity” in facing all the challenges, and expressed his hope that each country contributes ideas to reach an agreement in Copenhagen.

A large number of guests were delighted to witness the Indonesian traditional melodious music display during the Cultural Show and Dinner on Wednesday the 16th December, 2009 at the premises of the Indonesian Consulate General in Karachi.
This event was a part of Indonesian Consulate efforts to promote Indonesian Tourist Destinations and Culture to further strengthen the bonds of friendship between Indonesia and Pakistan.

Sukan Borneo Tournaments & Governor of East Kalimantan Visit to Brunei Darussalam

The 3rd Borneo Games held on 29 November – 6 December 2009 and participated by contingents of athletes from East Kalimantan and Central Kalimantan (Indonesia), Labuan, Sabah and Sarawak (Malaysia) and Brunei Darussalam, as well as the Malaysian peninsular state of Melacca, which particularly invited by the Government of Brunei Darussalam. The Governor of East Kalimantan province, aside attend the games, also conduct a meeting with several Bruneian Ministers to discuss potential cooperation between two sides.

On 26-27 November 2009, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Indonesia, Dr. R.M. Marty M. Natalegawa paid a visit to Thailand to meet with his counterpart, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand, Kasit Piromya and paid courtessy call to Prime Minister of Thailand, H.E. Abhisit Vejjajiva. This is the first trip of him to Thailand as the Minister of Foreign Affairs to Thailand.

Indonesia to Chair G-33 Ministerial Meeting in Geneva

Taking advantage of the presence of Ministers during the 7th WTO Ministerial Conference in Geneva, the Indonesian Trade Minister, H.E. Mrs. Mari Elka Pangestu, will be hosting and chairing a G-33 Informal Ministerial Meeting on 29 November 2009. The meeting is scheduled to take place at the WTO Headquarters in Geneva. It will be a great opportunity for the G-33 to strengthen its unity and cohesiveness, as well as to enhance preparedness for the future process of WTO negotiations.
