H.E. Budi Bowoleksono
Ambassador


Ambassador Budi Bowoleksono is currently the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the United States of America. He presented his letters of credence to the President on May 21, 2014. Prior to assuming his present assignment, Ambassador Bowoleksono was the Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia.

 

Previously, Ambassador Bowoleksono served as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Republic of Kenya in Nairobi (2008-2010), which also covers Seychelles, Mauritius, Uganda, UNEP, and UNHCR.

 

Ambassador Bowoleksono graduated from Krisnadwipayana University in Jakarta in 1984. He started his diplomatic career at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1986 and since then he had been assigned to the Permanent Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United Nations in New York, the Indonesian Permanent Mission in Geneva, and the Indonesian Permanent Mission in Vienna.

 

In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he was assigned at various offices such as Directorate General of Foreign Economic Relations; Directorate General of ASEAN Cooperation; Directorate General of Multilateral Affairs; and the Secretariat General. Ambassador Bowoleksono is married to Reshanty Bowoleksono who is also a career diplomat in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and blessed with a son, Lebdo Handaru Bowoleksono.

 

 

Sidharto (Arto) R. Suryodipuro
The Deputy Chief of Mission


Arto Suryodipuro is a Foreign Service Officer of Indonesia and at present is the Deputy Chief of Mission of the Republic of Indonesia to the United States of America.
 
Prior to his current assignment, he served as Director for Intra-Regional Cooperation in Asia Pacific and Africa, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During Indonesia’s APEC host year, he assisted the SOM Chair and, as secretary of the Policy Division of the National Committee of APEC Indonesia 2013, coordinated policy development. He chaired APEC’s drafting of the Bali outcome documents.
 
He was posted to Indonesia’s Mission to the United Nations in New York in 1996-2000 and, recently, during Indonesia’s term in the UN Security Council in 2007-08. Another posting was to Indonesia’s Embassy in Canberra, in charge for bilateral economic and development matters.
 
He graduated from Universitas Parahyangan in Bandung (1991) and the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey (2003). He won the Fulbright Scholarship in 2002.
