“Eleventh Special Session of the Governing Council/ Global Ministerial Environment Forum” will be held on 20-26 February 2010 at the Bali International Convention Centre (BICC), Westin Hotel, Nusa Dua, Bali, Indonesia. This conference will be a first important forum after Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen, Denmark, last December.
This conference is scheduled to be opened by the President of the Republic of Indonesia on 24 February 2010. More than 100 environment ministers and around 1.200 participants of the UN member states, environmental experts and civil society representatives are expected to participate in the conference. The conference is expected to produce a political declaration of important issues related to environment field, such as environmental governance, green economy and biodiversity. In this conference, Indonesia will raise ocean issues as a follow up of the World Ocean Conference in Manado last year.

Organizing committee (UNEP) also opens onsite registration, but it is encouraged to register online. Authorization for the media accreditation to cover the conference is conducted by the secretariat of UNEP media.
