Indonesian Students’ Performance at Multicultural Awareness Week Festival

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

On March 15th 2010, the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia in cooperation with Indonesian and International Student Association (IISA) participated in the Multicultural Awareness Week Festival (MAWF) at University of Western Ontario (UWO), London, Ontario. MAWF is an annual festival and conducted by Student Council; and followed by students’ communities from several countries. The Festival has been organized for one week, from March 15th to March 19th, 2010 and has a mission of introducing each country’s cultures, from which the students come.

 

In this event, Indonesia had become the first performer on the first day, featuring the New Creation Dance originated from Central Java Province called Yapong dance. The dance has been done by three performers: two of them were Indonesian girls and one was Vietnamese, who is IISA member. Apart of Indonesian, Indian and Caribbean Group also presented their performance on the same day.

 

Together with the art performance, on March 18th 2010, there was an exhibition of handicraft and tourism promotion.
