Ambassador Retno Marsudi Presented Her Credentials to Queen Beatrix

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Indonesia to the Kingdom of the Netherlands, H.E. Mrs. Retno L.P. Marsudi presented her credentials to Her Majesty Queen Beatrix Wilhelmina Armgard of the Netherlands at the Noordeinde Palace in The Hague on January 25, 2012. The first Indonesian lady ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands will bring fresh ideas and energy to further strengthen the bilateral ties and promote Indonesia’s interests in the Netherlands as an important partner in trade, investment and tourism as well as gateway to Europe.

Ambassador Retno Marsudi conveyed the warmest greetings from the President of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono, to Her Majesty, adding that Indonesia was greatly encouraged by Her Majesty’s and her government’s strong commitment to strengthen Indonesia-Netherlands partnership based on mutual respect and benefits.

Her Majesty the Queen warmly welcomed Ambassador Retno Marsudi back to the Netherlands and wished her every success in her mission as the Indonesian ambassador to the Kingdom of the Netherlands.

Underlining the importance of Indonesia for the Netherlands, Her Majesty expressed her high appreciation to the rapid political and economic development in Indonesia. It is also expected that Indonesia-Netherlands bilateral relations will be improved in the future for the progress of both nations.

During the ceremony, Ambassador Retno Marsudi was accompanied by her husband Mr. Agus Marsudi, Deputy Chief of Mission Mr. Umar Hadi, Minister Counselor for Political Affairs and Minister Counselor for Information and Socio-Cultural Affairs and Defence Attache.
