?On December 18th, 2014 the Indonesian Embassy in Tashkent has organized a series of eventscommemorating the 15th anniversary of Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) and this year’s 86th anniversary of Mother's Day.
In his remarks, the Indonesian Ambassador in Tashkent, Anak Agung Gde Alit Santhika, underlined the need to maintain the sense of togetherness and urging the DWP in actively promoting Indonesia in Uzbekistan. The ceremony was followed solemnly by all the staff, DWP members of the Embassy and the Indonesian community living in Uzbekistan. The Uzbek women, who are working at the Embassy, wore kebaya (traditional Indonesian dresses) that added beauty to the ceremony.
The commemoration was culminated with several games that tested the abilities of Embassy’s male staffs in doing houseworks that includes: button sewing, dressing using a decorative fabric and cutting the skins from an apple without severing it. The choosing of the games was synced with this year’s mother’s day theme in realizing gender equality in all aspects.
The series of events commemorating the DWP and Mother’s Day Anniversary were conducted in a friendly atmosphere. The participation of the male staffs in the games gave excitement to all that present.
