A 31-person-delegation of the Strategic International Studies Regular Education Program batch XLIV 2010 from Indonesia’s National Resilience Institute, headed by Rear Admiral Chairul Huda, conducted working visit to Bulgaria on 20-25 June 2010. The theme of the said delegation’s visit in on science and technology and the visit is intended to obtain more information about government and private institution in Bulgaria, as well as their significance and influence over global and regional affairs as well as the bilateral relations between Indonesia and Bulgaria.
During their stay in Bulgaria, the said delegation conducted meetings with officials from the Bulgarian Ministry of Foreign Affairs; Ministry of Defence; Ministry of Culture; Ministry of Economy, Energy and Tourism; Sofia University; Bulgarian Academic Sciences; two strategic industries (Samel-90 and Optix), and International Fair Plovdiv (the largest trade fairground in Southeastern Europe and one the four largest trade fairgrounds in Europe).
After receiving briefing given by Ambassador Inkiriwang in the Embassy, the said delegation attended dinner in the Ambassador’s residence and met the staff of the Embassy and Indonesian community in Sofia on 20 June. In his brief remarks, Ambassador Inkiriwang stated that the visit of the delegation shows the important significance given by Indonesia towards its bilateral relations with Bulgaria. The Ambassador further stated that he was proud to host a delegation who would be future leaders of Indonesia. In reply, Rear Admiral Chairul Huda thanked the Ambassador on behalf of his delegation for the warm welcome and the meetings arranged and facilitated by the Embassy.
