Asianto Sinambela
Consul General
Mr. Asianto Sinambela assumed his term of duty as the Indonesian Consul General in San Francisco since 12 January 2010. He started his career in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in 1987. He served as Head of Section for the Global for the Global Environment Conventions (1997-2000), Deputy Director for Trade in Goods and Services Negotiation (2004-2005), and Director for Trade, Industry, Investment and Intellectual Property Rights Affairs (2005-2010). Mr. Asianto Sinambela has been assigned to various Foreign Service assignments including as Second Secretary for Economic and Political Affairs at the Indonesian Embassy in Nairobi, Kenya (1993-1997), Counselor for International Trade Negotiations at the Permanent Missions of Indonesia to the United Nations and other International Organizations in Geneva, Switzerland (2000-2004). During Mr. Sinambela’s career, he attended various international meetings, conferences, and symposiums on global environmental and international trade issues. Mr. Sinambela received his Master of Law from the American University, Washington D.C. He was born in Medan, Indonesia and is married to Theresia Agustina Sinambela and has three children.
