WELCOME STATUE  The Welcome Monument was built in a swampy area at the meeting point of the capital’s two main boulevards, General Sudirman and. M.H. Thamrin Boulevard in 1960. Now, in the first decade of the 21st century, this statue is surrounded by some of the tallest, most luxurious and modern buildings in Indonesia.
