President of Azerbaijan Sends Independence Day Greetings

The President of Azerbaijan Republic, Ilham Aliyev sent an Independence Day greetings to the President and the people of Indonesia.

The greetings was sent through President Aliyev’s letter to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono as quoted in the official website of the Azerbaijani President and published at News.Az (16/08).

President Aliyev also expressed his optimism over the development and improvement of the bilateral relationship between the two countries, which has been fostered for 20 years.

Currently, Indonesia and Azerbaijan have been promoting bilateral cooperation in the field of economy.

As a side note, the improving relations in the field of trade between the two countries has been marked with the increasing oil and gas imports from Azerbaijan, whose value is expected to reach over US$ 1 billion this year. (Source: the Indonesian Embassy in Baku/Ed.PY// Trans. Loyz.D/ Andk)
