The Batavia Madrigal Singers is an outstanding vocal ensemble from Jakarta, Indonesia; Avip Priatna is the Music Director and Conductor. The ensemble has performed in many prestigious international festivals in France, China, and Taiwan. The ensemble has also toured and compete in Slovenia, Hungary, Austria, France, Italy, and Spain, and will be travelling to Washington, D.C. and New York City following an international competition in Bulgaria. The French Minister of Culture awarded the Batavia Madrigal Singers "Best Interpretation of French Composition" in Florilège Vocal de Tours in 2001. In 2011, the ensemble won five awards at the 57th International Contest of Habaneras and Polyphony of Torrevieja, Spain, the highest achievement ever obtained by a choir since the competition was started in 1954.
