Indonesian Embassy Celebrates 66th Anniversary of Indonesian Independence Day
Indonesia is celebrating its 66th independence anniversary on 17 August 2011. Indonesian Embassy held the Independence Day ceremony in the Embassy premise in Bilad Al Qadeem. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of Indonesian community in Bahrain.
At the beginning of the ceremony all participant were singing the national anthem, “Indonesia Raya”. The Embassy’s staff then read out the state philosophy, declaration of independence and the preamble of 1945 Indonesian Constitution. Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy, Mr. Agus Salim read out the message from Indonesian President, Dr. H. Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. The President asking all Indonesian citizens to work together for a better Indonesia and facing all challenges to be an advanced, prosperous and dignified nation.
Indonesian Embassy in Bahrain was officially opened on 29th December 2010, previously since April 2005 Indonesian mission in Bahrain was conducted at the level of consular office. The opening of Indonesian Embassy in Manama signified the importance of both countries bilateral ties. Approximately there are 10.000 Indonesian works and live in Bahrain.
