President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono arrived in the Galeao Air Force Base Rio de Janeiro, Brazil on Wednesday (20/06) to attend the UN Conference on Sustainable Development or known as Rio+20. Upon his arrival, President SBY and the leader of all the participant countries attended the Summit opening.The Rio+20 is the summit of the 4th meeting on sustainable development since 1972.The conference was attended by 115 world leaders and 50 thousand participants from all over the world, including company executives and representatives of non-governmental organizations.President SBY is also scheduled to participate in the Green Economy Conference. This conference is a side event pioneered by Indonesia. The conference takes on 'Moving towards Sustainability: Together We Must Create the Future We Want' as a theme. The Head of UKP4, Kuntoro Mangkusubroto, is to deliver an opening remark. President SBY arrived in Rio de Jeneiro just after visiting Los Cabos, Mexico and will stay until Friday (22/6) morning. His next agenda will be paying a state visit to Ecuador.Foreign Ministry, Martin M. Natalegawa, tagged along with the President for this visit. Also going to Rio de Jeneiro were Coordinating Minister for People’s Welfare, HR. Agung Laksono; Coordinating Minister for Economy, Hatta Rajasa; Minister of Trade, Gita Wirjawan; Minister of Forestry, Zulkifli Hasan; and Minister of Environment, Balthazar Kambuaya.
